I have four years experience as a talented and innovative industrial designer working for ACCO Brands, a Kettering Ohio based product design company overseeing product development across many well known school and office brands such as Mead, Five-Star, Trapper Keeper, At-A-Glance, and Swingline. I have worked collaboratively with the marketing, engineering, and sourcing teams to develop a handful of unique products you can find on the shelves of your local Walmart, Target, or Staples.
In addition to my work with ACCO Brands, I have a collection of personal projects that communicate my skills, passions, and capabilities beyond my professional work. These projects serve as a testament to my commitment to growth and development in the field of industrial design. I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand my expertise and deepen my understanding of the discipline. As I eagerly embrace the future of my career, I am excited for new challenges and to contribute my expertise to the ever-evolving landscape of industrial design.
Who is Emma?
Hello there! I'm thrilled to have you here in my design portfolio. Let me introduce myself—I'm a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati DAAP program, holding a BS in Industrial Design. Design has always been a passion, and I'm dedicated to continuously expanding my knowledge in this ever-evolving field. Collaborating with fellow curious and passionate professionals like yourself is what truly fuels my creative fire. The reason I went into design is simple: I love problem-solving. Industrial Design offers a wide range of possibilities, allowing me to work across many different industries. Once you understand the design process, it becomes a tool that can be applied to an array of products, from cutting-edge consumer tech to crafting seamless UX/UI experiences. Immersing myself in consumer research and seeking feedback on concepts enables me to craft the best possible outcome.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I find immense joy in pursuing my personal passions. One such passion is pottery, a craft that has captured my heart. In the whirlwind of 2020, like many others, I discovered the importance of exploring extracurricular activities. During that time, I joined a wonderful community of potters in Cincinnati through a studio called Core Clay. They became my mentors, guiding me through the world of pottery and imparting invaluable knowledge. Inspired by this experience, I decided to invest in my passion and set up a complete ceramic studio right in the comfort of my own home. There's something truly magical about getting my hands in the mud, shaping clay into beautiful forms, and witnessing the transformative power of the kiln. Pottery has not only become a personal creative outlet but also a gateway to connecting with a remarkable group of individuals who share the same love for this craft. It has been a journey that constantly reminds me of the endless possibilities that arise when we allow ourselves to explore our own creativity and connect with like-minded souls.
